Why this TRAINING exists
Ministry is an isolating vocation. So is coaching one.
Not incidentally. Structurally.
The role puts a person permanently in front of others, removes the space where they do not have to be, and makes honest disclosure professionally costly. Most ministry leaders cannot name one person they can be fully honest with about what the work asks of them.
Understanding the shape of that life is foundational. It changes what you listen for, how long you expect trust to take, and what you do with a leader who tells you everything is fine.
And then there is your side of it.
You hold what they cannot say. You hold it in confidence. You often hold it without colleagues who understand the specific weight of it.
Emotional exhaustion, vicarious grief, and compassion fatigue are real occupational risks for coaches, not just for the people you serve. The same relational ecosystem you help a client build is frequently the thing you are missing.

What you will experience
- The three stages, and why you need the map. Front stage, back stage, off stage — the structure of a ministry life, and a tool for coaching ministry leaders. Worth asking yourself, too: how are my front stage, back stage, and off stage?
- What holding those conversations does to you. You carry what your clients cannot say, in confidence, usually without anyone who understands the weight of it.
- Flourishing as a coach. Hard to maintain in a practice of one. What staying sharp actually requires, and how to build it into your year.
- How coaching actually gets better. Fifteen years of experience is not fifteen years of growth. Reps with feedback are. Come learn what a sharpening rhythm looks like and what it takes to sustain.
- A live coaching moment, unpacked. Chris and Sylvia coach, then open it up: what happened, what else could have been asked. Most coaches lose access to this after certification.
