Training coaches to flourish in ministry, so they can help ministry leaders flourish

The session

Gratitude, coaching, and flourishing in the Thanksgiving season

Every November, ministry leaders lead others in giving thanks. Thanksgiving services, year-end giving letters, and Advent planning all arrive at once. It is a season of gratitude that many leaders spend almost entirely on other people.

Dr. Catherine Hart Weber, author of Growth and Flourishing Through Gratitude, has given much of her work to gratitude as a practice: something a person returns to on purpose, not only a feeling that comes and goes. In this masterclass she teaches what that practice can look like for people who serve in ministry, and how noticing and receiving what is good shapes the way a leader sees their own life and calling.

For coaches, gratitude is also a way into a conversation. A well-timed question about what is going well can open up a session that has been circling what is not. Catherine shows how she brings gratitude into coaching, then leads a live group coaching session so you can see it at work.

The session is hosted by Rev. Chris Adams, PhD, and Dr. Sylvia Hart Frejd, and closes with time for your questions.
